Interesting Thoughts...

Hey guys...just need to get some thoughts out there.  Let me know what you think!  Thanks.

Today was a really rough day.  Just in general.  Nothing big happened...just a lot of little things.  But there were also some amazing things.  For example...the good :)  Nathaniel went on the potty twice today!  That is amazing.  Our friends Doug and Sonji finalized the adoption of their daughter Kaitlyn!  Also amazing.  Sara is perfectly normal (dispite the four shots she had to get today...yuck).  I have amazing friends, family, and a huge support system (thank you to those who are a part of that).  I am blessed to have an amazing job at church.  (More about that later) I serve an amazing God who blesses me in unbelieveable ways.  But among all of those amazing things I feel so terrible some days.

Just a side note...I am not depressed or anything like that.

Sometimes I just feel so unworthy of all of the amazing things that God has blessed me with.  Why?  I know I serve a mighty God and that He blesses whom he chooses...but why me?  These are the days that i truly know of God's Grace and Mercy...because I know that I am not perfect by any means and none of us are.

These are the days that I just want to reflect on all of the amazing things that God has given me...and also on this dreary day (for me), Nathaniel comes up and says (in his own little way) "Mommy love you"  And that's just the thing that I needed to hear...that God and Nathaniel and my family and friends love me!  And that makes my day that much brighter.

Also while I was reflecting on this day (its now getting better) I started singing a chorus that we sing at church (this is a prayer sung to God):

I need Your Mercy
I need Your Grace
I need Your help leading the way
I can't make it without You
Not for one day
I need Your Mercy
I need Your Grace

I pray that the above is also how you feel about God...that you cannot make it one day without Him!!  I know I can't!

PS-About the job...I am going to be the Christian Education Minister at our church.  This means that I will be in charge of all of the children's ministry stuff (i.e. Nursery (3 weeks - 3 years). Junior Kids Church (ages 3-1st grade), Kids Church (grades 1st - 6th), Summer Camp, VBS, and Christmas Play.  Please pray that God will work through me to minister to these innercity kids whom I love so dearly!

I love you all!!  God Bless!!

Women of Faith Conference

Hey Guys!  I just had an amazing weekend and wanted to share some of it with you!  This past weekend I went to the "Women of Faith" weekend down in Columbus, Ohio.  It was an amazing time of praise and worship and laughter!  I haven't laughed this hard or this much in a really long time!

For those of you who are not familiar with the Woman of Faith organization it is a group of women (duh) that minister to other women through worship, teaching, dramas, and laughter.  There were four amazing women leading worship called the "Women of Faith" worship team and then there was a lady named Sandi Patty (amazing singer), 4 women and one man (Max Lucado!!) who spoke, one Christian comedian, and one drama lady for lack of a better word.

The conference began on Friday night and lasted through Saturday evening.  We were in an arena filled with 18,001 women!!  It was amazing!!  During one point on Saturday we were singing "Amazing Grace" and I just closed my eyes and listened!  It was beautiful...I really think that I what Heaven is going to sound like.  I can't even describe what it felt like!

The teaching was also amazing.  All of the speakers taught on how we can acheive freedom...not freedom that the world promises you but true freedom that only God can give!  I learned a lot this weekend.

My favorite part of the conference was Anita Renfroe - a Christian comedian.  She was hilarious.  She told jokes, sang funny songs she made up...a riot!  One song (sorry guys) was about underwire bras....and she made up new lyrics to Josh Grobins (i think that's how you spell his name) "You Raise Me Up"  I was in tears I was laughing so hard.  And this went on for an hour.

Anyhow...it was an amazing time and if you would like to know more about it...please ask...I could go on forever about it!!  Great time!!

Before I go...one little joke that I remember from the conference...thanks to Anita of course...

Why are single women skinnier then married women??

Because single women look at what's in the refrigerator and then go to bed but married women look at what's in the bed and go to the refrigerator!!

Hope you guys have an amazing day and remember to laugh!!

Funny Thing to do!!

Hey everyone!!  Hope this finds you doing well!  Just a quick update on the kids...Sara is growing fast.  She is going to be 3 months old on the 18th of April...Amazing!  Nathaniel is almost 22 months...wow...almost 2 years old.  I cannot belive it.

Nathaniel is doing several things new...he knows how to take off his shoes (velcro ones), he is beginning to take off his diaper (not a good thing), he is really curious with how things work and how to take things apart, he can build a block tower (with mega blocks) as tall as he is, he loves to help me vaccuum, sweep, or clean, he also loves to help me cook.  As for interacting with Sara, he loves to greet her in the morning and loves to go and see her, likes to hold her about once a day and likes to read to her.  Other than that, he would rather be on his own.

Sara is just about to roll over.  She gets about half way there and then she gets stuck on her arm I am guessing!  It is funny!  She is also smiling so much more.  I love to see her smile.  One of her favorite things to smile at is a black and white musical cow.  What ever makes her happy!

Also this moth I am turning 26...that just sounds so old.  I cannot believe that I am old enough to have kids and be married for four years!  WOW four years...that means that I have know Brian for 7 years...that is more than a 1/4 of my life!!  Oh I am feeling a little old!  But the great thing is that Brian is always 1 1/2 years older than me!!  YEA for that!!

Well I hope you all are doing well.  I would love to hear how you guys are doing!

Love,

Crystal

Hey Guys...My friend Liz is doing a presentation for her master class and needs some help for ome people to do a survey for her. Could you please help her out. Thank you so much!!

Crystal

Hey, I am working on a presentation for my masters class. I am trying to find out what common problems a young brass player may have. This could be a very beginning student, or even someone who is taking a methods class for brass. To see if my theories are correct, I was hoping that I could enlist your help. Would you please answer a few questions in your free time?

Simply copy and paste the following questions into an email, then answer the questions survey style. you can send your responses to liz811@hotmail.com before Friday, April 13, 2007

A.Please rate the following instruments based on whether or not you believe that the instrument should be - or are most often- played by males or females, or if you have no opinion. -Go with your gut...There are NO right or wrong answers.

1. trumpet

2. trombone

3. clarinet

4. flute

5. Alto sax

6. percussion

B. Short answer- just answer the question

1. Were you in band in elementary school?

2. If so, what did you play?

3. What made you choose the instrument you played?

4. Did you remain in band all through school (if you haven't graduated, do you plan to stay?)

5. If you quit, what made you quit (BE SPECIFIC! band director, peers, other activities...)

6. If you were never in band, why did you choose not to? (be
specific...see previous examples)

C. BRASS PLAYERS ONLY

1. Think back to when you first began playing, what problems do you remember? (finding pitches, etc)

2. What information do you have about your instrument now that you wish you had as a starting player?

3. What "light bulb" moment do you remember? (ex. I finally understood superb attack and release on the trombone at my last lesson)

Thanks in advance for your help! I REALLY appreciate it. OH- if you happen to have a friend who would otherwise not get this, would you please share it? The more who answer, the better!! THANK YOU!!!

Greetings!  Hope all is well with all of you.  Sara and Nathaniel are doing well.  Sara is gaining weight and growing at an amazing rate.  She just had her one month appointment today and she weighs 9 pounds 10 ounces and is 22 inches long.  On the growth chart she is in the 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height.  Looks like I will have two kids passing me up in height at the age of 12!

Other than that things have been going great around here except for the sleep deprevation.  (Don't get me wrong I am glad Sara is a good sleeper but I would love to sleep 8 hours at once!  That would be amazing!!)

Well got to go.  Sara is asleep now and that means that I am off to bed as well.  Oh, posted some new pictures on here of Nathaniel and Sara.  Hope you enjoy!  Have an amazing week!!
